We’re Havin’ a BABY!

About Us!

We met in high school, fell in love and started dating on November 29, 2000. Our first “sort of date” was to Coffee Time for breakfast before school that day. Our first “real” date was to a restaurant called Neptune’s Cove in Bayview Village (sadly no longer there). We bonded over the fact that neither of us knew how to properly use the 18 bajillion forks and assorted utensils set in front of us. From then on, it was simply obvious that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together (well, ok it may have taken a few more weeks, but yeah, we basically knew right away). I was 17, he was 18 & we were eachother’s first boyfriend/girlfriend.

We got engaged while I was in OAC (the no longer existing Grade 13 in Ontario). The judging and snide looks I got from people were hilarious (especially the bitter single 30-something teachers), and the support & wisdom from our friends and family was amazing.

15 months later we were married – May 17, 2003. An awesome day. I was 19, he was 20. Lots of negative people were convinced it would never work, that we were too young… blah blah blah. But the ones who counted were 110% supportive (including all 4 parents, family, and close friends).

Almost 5 years later, I hate to say I told you so… but…

We are more in love than ever, and have done some amazing things together, which include travelling to Bolivia, Uganda & Tanzania (twice), moved into a townhouse that we love, finished one Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy (Beth) and one Private Pilot’s License (Chris), with more pilot training ongoing, been successful in a couple different full-time positions, bought a new Honda which is almost paid off, followed and worked on our dreams together, taken active steps to being in God’s will for our lives, and discerned a clear calling to missions aviation and family.

and created a new human being.

Not bad at all, I’d say.
